Easter egg candles pastel & neon
You need:
- Rapeseed wax 5761 (alternatively rapeseed coconut wax 660-55M)
- BWR wick (depending on diameter)
- Candle dyes (we used forest green, pink, yellow & orange)
- Tudastar 2311 (for dipped neon eggs)
- Neon candle dye (we used neon pink and neon yellow)
- Also: egg silicone mould and everything needed for a water bath
1. Rapeseed wax
Melt the rapeseed wax at approx. 80°C in a water bath. You can melt a larger amount in a melting pot and later fill a small amount into a melting ladle for each individual colour and dye it.
2. Prepare the moulds
While the rapeseed wax is melting, you can prepare the silicone mould. To do this, cut the wick to size and thread it through the mould. Then preheat the mould on the radiator.
3. Pouring white eggs
Once the rapeseed wax has melted, allow it to cool slightly (to approx. 60°C). Then pour it into the silicone mould without colour if you want to dip the eggs. Allow everything to cool and harden at room temperature.
4. Adding colour
Pour a small amount of wax into the melting ladle for each colour and melt a small amount of candle dye into it. For the pastel shades, we used 1 dye tablet for the small amount of wax.
Once the colour has completely dissolved, pour the wax into the silicone mould. Repeat with other colours as desired.
5. Dip-Dye eggs
While the colourful eggs are hardening, you can melt Tudastar 2311 with neon dye in jars in a water bath.
Once the white eggs have hardened and the neon colours are liquid, you can dip the eggs as desired. We especially like the pink-yellow combination.
6. Pastel eggs
Finally, carefully remove the pastel eggs from the mould and trim the wicks.
The finished Easter egg candles are perfect as homemade Easter decorations or gifts for guests!
