Candle Colours for Even Colour Distribution
Choosing a suitable candle colour influences both the colour effect and processing. Well-matched colours can be evenly distributed in the wax and ensure a calm, homogeneous colour result. This creates a consistent appearance that can be implemented reliably.
Colouring Wax – What Should Be Considered?
There are two different types of candle colour: candle colour for full colouring and candle colour for dipping (as coating wax).
When fully colouring or tinting wax, wax-soluble dyes are used. These distribute evenly and colour the entire candle mass uniformly. Colour intensity depends on the wax used and the dosage. For this purpose, highly concentrated colour pastilles are used for colouring wax, such as the (2803) series for paraffin waxes and the (2804) series, which is matched to the natural base colour of natural waxes.
Candle colours for dipping, on the other hand, consist of wax-insoluble pigments. This type of candle colour is prepared separately in wax as so-called coating wax (also referred to as dipping wax or overlay wax). The candles are cast with uncoloured wax and then coated with the coloured coating wax. The advantage of pigments is that they allow intense colours and effects that cannot be achieved with candle colours for full colouring, for example neon candle colours.
Which candle colour is suitable depends on the desired colour effect. Candle colours for dipping are suitable for more intense colour tones; however, they cannot be used for full colouring.
Buy Candle Colours from DistrEbution
In this category, you can buy candle colours suitable for colouring candle wax in development and production. The colours are easy to process and enable consistent results across different candle types. Our candle colours are tested not only for colour fastness but also for their influence on candle burning behaviour. They offer good colour stability and have only a minimal effect on the burn performance of the candle.
Different packaging sizes provide flexibility for personal use, small series, or larger production volumes. Complement your candle making with additional products from our candle making range to optimally coordinate colour, wax, and processing.
