What is candle colour?
Candle colour refers to specially developed wax-soluble dyes or pigments used to colour candle wax. Depending on the product, they are available in liquid form or as a solid, for example as pellets.
What is candle varnish?
Candle varnish is a special finishing coating for candles that burns off safely and without residue as the candle is lit. Applied by dipping or brushing, it gives candles a coloured, protective and often glossy surface. Transparent candle varnish is also suitable for sealing motifs, such as water-slide transfers or candle tattoos.

FAQ
Advantages: Dyes dissolve completely in the wax and enable a homogeneous colouring of the entire candle mass. This means the colour effect remains even and consistent while burning and melting. Ideal for fully coloured candles without visible colour differences in the core.
Disadvantages: Dyes are not completely lightfast and may fade with prolonged exposure to UV light or sunlight. In addition, the maximum colour intensity is limited: Very strong or opaque shades can only be achieved to a limited extent, as high dosages may negatively affect the burn, the flame and the burning characteristics.
Advantages: Pigments make particularly more intense colours possible that cannot be achieved with dyes. They also have a high light/UV resistance.
Disadvantages: Strong stirring is required, as pigments do not dissolve in the wax, but only disperse within it. Pigments can only be used for the outermost layer of the candle, otherwise the wick may become clogged. The candles therefore have a white core.
