What is paraffin?
Paraffin is a mixture of saturated hydrocarbons derived from petroleum. It is low-odour, tasteless, water-repellent and highly versatile. Paraffin is used especially often in candle making, cosmetic products and technical applications.
Paraffin for candles
A large proportion of the paraffin used worldwide is processed into candles. Depending on the application, different melting points and delivery forms such as pastilles, granules or blocks are suitable. Paraffin wax is particularly popular for moulded candles, dipped candles and numerous industrial candle products.
Paraffin for cosmetics
In cosmetics, paraffin is often used as a moisture barrier, consistency agent and skin-protecting ingredient. It forms a gentle protective film on the skin, helps prevent moisture loss and leaves the skin feeling smooth.
