Niacinamide
Niacinamide, also known as nicotinamide, is a water-soluble vitamin of the B group, formerly also known as vitamin B3. It is mainly used as a food additive and dietary supplement, but can also be used in the manufacture of cosmetics. It contributes to normal energy metabolism, normal functioning of the nervous system and normal psychological function, among other things. It also contributes to the maintenance of normal skin and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
In the manufacture of cosmetics, niacinamide is mainly used in skin care products. It is used to combat pigmentation disorders such as age spots and oily skin. It also reduces small wrinkles and lines as well as redness and inflammation. Nicotinamide also counteracts dehydration of the skin and makes it softer and more even. Products typically contain concentrations of 2-10% niacinamide.
Recommended intake: Take two levelled measuring cubes (100 mg each) once a day with the small measuring cube side dissolved in water or juice.
