Schnexagon – The Animal-Friendly Snail Protection for Gardens and Raised Beds
Schnexagon is a transparent, non-stick coating that forms a barrier on vertical surfaces such as raised beds, plant pots, garden borders or edging. Snails cannot get a grip on the treated surface and are reliably and humanely deterred – without poison or chemical additives.
The product is developed and produced in Germany. Based on natural ingredients, it is biodegradable, vegan and free from harmful substances – safe for children, pets and beneficial insects. This makes Schnexagon an environmentally friendly and animal-conscious solution for both hobby gardeners and professional horticulture.
How to Use Schnexagon
Suitable surfaces include wood, natural stone, untreated clay, concrete, glass, metals (zinc, steel, copper) and many plastics. Schnexagon is applied like paint using a brush and is ready to use immediately. The surface must be clean, dry and free from grease, wax or oil. The coating must be applied to a surface that is vertical to the ground, ideally with a slight outward tilt in the direction from which snails may approach. There must be no cracks, holes or other passageways larger than 5 mm that snails could pass through.
Preparation & Application:
- Clean the surface (dry, grease-free, stable)
- Stir the coating thoroughly
- Apply an 8–10 cm wide strip with a brush approx. 10 cm above the ground
- Do not exceed the recommended amount
- Allow to dry and protect from moisture during drying
- Reapply every 6–8 weeks depending on weather conditions
