How to Process Melt & Pour Shea Butter Soap
Our shea butter soap base is easy to melt, customise and pour into your preferred shapes:
- Portioning: Remove the required amount of soap base from the packaging and cut into smaller pieces.
- Melting: Gently heat in a water bath at around 75 °C. Alternatively, melt the soap in the microwave (1 kg pack, approx. 2 minutes).
- Customising: Stir in up to 3% of additional ingredients (colourants, fragrances, botanicals, glitter) as needed. Fragrances should not exceed 1%.
- Pouring: Carefully pour the melted soap mixture into moulds. Spray with rubbing alcohol to avoid air bubbles.
- Curing: Allow the soap to harden either in its packaging or in moulds. Let it cool and set completely before removing from the moulds. For easier release, leave the soap to rest in a cool place for 24 hours. Once fully cured, the soap can be further processed or packaged as required.
