Shea Butter Soap Base – High-Quality Raw Soap for Professional Soap Making

The shea butter soap base from Stephenson is a high-quality, plant-based raw soap, ideally suited for professional soap manufacturing. It is vegetarian and cruelty-free, making it a suitable choice for sustainable cosmetic products.

Enriched with shea butter, it offers moisturising, nourishing and skin-soothing properties. The white melt & pour soap is unscented, providing the perfect base for your own fragrance creations. It is suitable for all skin types. Our shea butter soap base allows for easy processing and consistently high quality in every batch. Rely on the many years of expertise from Stephenson – an established UK-based manufacturer known for reliability, innovative formulations and the highest production standards in soap making.

How to Process Melt & Pour Shea Butter Soap

Our shea butter soap base is easy to melt, customise and pour into your preferred shapes:

  • Portioning: Remove the required amount of soap base from the packaging and cut into smaller pieces.
  • Melting: Gently heat in a water bath at around 75 °C. Alternatively, melt the soap in the microwave (1 kg pack, approx. 2 minutes).
  • Customising: Stir in up to 3% of additional ingredients (colourants, fragrances, botanicals, glitter) as needed. Fragrances should not exceed 1%.
  • Pouring: Carefully pour the melted soap mixture into moulds. Spray with rubbing alcohol to avoid air bubbles.
  • Curing: Allow the soap to harden either in its packaging or in moulds. Let it cool and set completely before removing from the moulds. For easier release, leave the soap to rest in a cool place for 24 hours. Once fully cured, the soap can be further processed or packaged as required.

What is Shea Butter?

Shea butter is a natural plant-based ingredient extracted from the nuts of the shea tree, which mainly grows in West and Central Africa. It is known for its outstanding nourishing properties and contains a rich blend of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. These help to moisturise and soothe the skin, making shea butter a valued ingredient in skincare products and soaps – especially for dry or stressed skin.
