Fibreglass Permanent Wick GFD for Outdoor Wax Burners
The GFD fibreglass wick is a long-lasting permanent wick for homemade wax burners and candle burners used outdoors. Thanks to its heat-resistant fibreglass braid, the wick does not burn down and retains its length – there is no need to trim or replace it.
The wick consists of a braid of glass fibres and features a round metal nut as a stable base. The nut ensures that the wick stands securely in the molten wax. A spiral at the tip of the wick prevents it from fraying. The wick draws molten wax upwards by capillary action, where it burns evenly. It can be used with candle wax as well as clean candle remnants. The fibreglass wick is made in Germany.
Variants

- GFD 9: Fibreglass length 9 cm
Key features
- Reusable and long-lasting: The fibreglass material does not burn and retains its length.
- Suitable for wax burners: Ideal for flame bowls, candle burners and wax burners used outdoors.
- Stable flame: Produces a large, wind-resistant flame.
- Easy to use: Can be secured in the vessel using wax adhesive pads or suitable adhesive.
- Made in Germany.
How to use
Place the fibreglass wick centrally in a fire-resistant flame bowl. We recommend a bowl diameter of at least 18 cm. The tip of the wick should be level with, or above, the rim of the vessel. An overhang of approximately 5 mm is ideal in order to prevent heat build-up.
When making the wax burner, secure the wick to the base of the vessel using wax adhesive pads or suitable adhesive to prevent it from shifting. Then fill the bowl with suitable candle wax, wax granules or grated candle remnants. Once the wax has solidified, the wax burner can be lit.
If necessary, you can top up the flame bowl with new wax or clean candle remnants. Make sure that, while burning, the wick does not protrude more than 3 cm above the molten wax. If the wax level is too low, top up with wax to limit the size of the flame.
To extinguish the flame, place a wick snuffer or a fire-resistant metal container over the flame to smother it. Never extinguish with water.
Safety instructions
For outdoor use only. Use exclusively in fire-resistant, stable bowls or vessels. Place on a stable, non-flammable surface and keep away from flammable materials. Do not move while in use and never leave burning unattended. Keep out of the reach of children and pets. The flame may produce soot or smoke.
