You have made candles with our rape wax 5761 or our paraffin 58/60 and would like to decorate them with a marble effect afterwards? Or are your bought candles too plain for you and you want to get creative?
Then this tutorial is for you! Guaranteed easy and quick to make!
We recommend that you just give it a try. With this technique you can create all kinds of marble effects in any colour combination.
1. Prepare
Heat water in a deep pot on the cooker - do not let it boil. It is best to heat to about 80°C.
2. Add colour
Add a few pastilles of our candle colour to the water and wait until they start to dissolve - stir very gently in between.
Our colours are very economical, so only add a few pastilles to the water. By the way, they can be mixed very well, so there are almost no limits to your choice of colours.
To create a two-tone marble effect, it's best to work in two layers, one after the other, starting with the lighter colour. If you add two colours to the water at the same time, you have to work quickly to see two colours on the candle later, as the colours mix very well and quickly once they are liquid.
By stirring, you can influence how strong/big the stains will be.
3. Dip the candles
Hold the candle by the wick and dip it slowly and briefly into the water and paint.
For an even cooler effect, you can twist the candle by the wick and release it when dipping. This creates a "swirling" effect.
You can also dip only half of the candle and only one corner. There are no limits to your creativity.
4. Leave to cool
Place the candles on a sheet of baking paper and leave them to harden at room temperature for a few hours (depending on the intensity of the colour).
6. Give it away or light it
Your marbled candles are not only a great decoration, but also a great gift.
