Would you like to make your own Easter decorations or do you still need ideas for gifts for your Easter visit?
These beautiful Easter egg candles in pastel and neon made from natural wax are the perfect DIY idea for the Easter season!
Easter egg candles pastel & neon
You need:
- Rapeseedwax 5761 (alternative: rapeseed-coconut wax 660-55M)
- BWR wick (depending on diameter)
- Candle colors (we used forest, pink, yellow and orange)
- Tudastar 2311 (for dipped neon eggs)
- Neon candle color (we used neon pink and neon yellow)
- Also: egg silicone mold and everything you need for the bain-marie
1. Rapeseed wax
Melt the rapeseed wax in a bain-marie at approx. 80°C. You can melt a larger amount in a simmer pot and then pour a small amount into a melting ladle for each color and stir in.
2. Prepare molds
While the rapeseed wax is melting, you can prepare the silicone mold. To do this, cut the wick to size and thread it through the mold. Then preheat the mold on the heater.
3. Pouring white eggs
When the rapeseed wax has melted, allow it to cool slightly (to approx. 60°C). Then pour into the silicone mold without color if you want to dip eggs. Leave to cool and harden at room temperature.
4. Dyeing
For each color, pour a small amount of wax into the melting ladle and melt a small amount of candle dye in it. For the pastels, we used 1 pastille for the small amount of wax.
When the paint is completely dissolved, pour the wax into the silicone mold. Repeat with other colors as desired.
5. Dip-Dye Eggs
While the colored eggs are hardening, you can melt Tudastar 2311 with neon paint in jars in a bain-marie.
As soon as the white eggs have hardened and the neon colors are liquid, you can dip the eggs however you like. We particularly like the pink and yellow combination.
6. Pastel eggs
Finally, carefully unmold the pastel eggs and trim the wicks.
The finished Easter egg candles make really good homemade Easter decorations or gifts for guests!
