Citric Acid Anhydrous Food Grade 12 - 40 Mesh
Citric acid is a naturally occurring acid, which in its pure form is a white granulate. Citric acid combines many advantageous properties: it is odourless, easily soluble in water, a natural acidity regulator, has a preservative effect and dissolves limescale and rust. This citric acid is of the anhydrate type in 12 - 40 mesh. In contrast to the frequently offered monohydrate, this citric acid contains almost no water (water content ≤ 0.5 %) and is therefore more effective. The product is produced using the latest methods by one of the largest manufacturers of citric acid in China.
Application
Citric acid can be dissolved in water in its crystalline form. This produces an acidic solution that can be used in many food and technical applications to regulate pH. In the food industry, citric acid is used as a preservative and flavouring agent. Citric acid is authorised as a food additive under the number E 330 and is an ingredient in many drinks and jams. In the cosmetics industry, it is used to regulate the pH value and for preservation. As bacterial growth is inhibited in an acidic environment, cosmetics have a longer shelf life. In the detergent industry, it is used as a strong, natural descaling agent and is an ingredient in many cleaning agents and detergents.
Notes
Citric acid should be stored in a dry place at room temperature.
