Carnauba Wax T4 Fat Grey is a plant-based wax obtained from the leaves of the Carnauba palm native to Brazil (Copernicia prunifera). This refined wax grade is specifically offered for technical applications. The practical flake form facilitates dosing and processing. The following qualities of Carnauba wax are available from us:

Properties

  • High melting point (82–86 °C): This ensures the wax remains shape-stable even at high temperatures and is suitable for applications with thermal stresses.
  • Gloss enhancement: It produces an intense, long-lasting shine, especially valued in surface polishes and coatings.
  • Film-forming, protective effect: Forms a water-repellent, protective film that shields materials such as wood, metal, paints or stone from environmental influences.
  • Chemical stability: Insoluble in water and resistant to many chemicals.
  • Versatile applicability: Used as a functional ingredient to improve scratch resistance, friction resistance and surface hardness.

Is Carnauba Wax Palm Oil?

No, Carnauba wax is not palm oil. Carnauba wax is obtained from the leaves of the Carnauba palm (Copernicia prunifera), which is native to Brazil. Palm oil, on the other hand, is extracted from the fruit of the oil palm (Elaeis guineensis). Palm oil and palm kernel oil are oils with completely different chemical properties compared to Carnauba wax, which is a solid wax. Therefore, these are two entirely distinct substances, even though both come from palms.

Notes

Due to its natural origin, properties such as colour may vary slightly. Carnauba wax should be stored dry, cool and protected from light.
