Application
Shake well or stir thoroughly before use, as natural colour components may settle during storage.
Melt the candle wax completely until a clear liquid wax melt is obtained. The wax temperature should not exceed approx. 85 °C during processing. Then stir the required amount of colour directly into the liquid wax. The liquid form allows easy dosing and even colour distribution throughout the wax. The candle colour should be incorporated into the liquid wax before adding fragrance oil.
The required amount of colour depends on the type of wax, the wax blend and the desired colour intensity.
The recommended addition rate is between 0.01% and 1%. For rapeseed wax, the maximum addition rate is 1.0%. After brief mixing, the colour is evenly distributed and the wax can be processed further.
Adding too much colour can affect the burning behaviour and impair wick performance. The recommended dosage should therefore be observed.
Notes
The natural colour components create a harmonious and natural colour effect. Compared with conventional colours, the shades are somewhat more subtle and less intense.
Colour stability can be affected by the wax blend and, in particular, by the use of fragrances. For improved colour stability, we recommend using our colour stabiliser.
Direct and prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause colour changes in candles coloured with natural colour components. To preserve the colour for as long as possible, coloured candles should be protected from intense sunlight.
Candles coloured with natural candle colours cannot be overcoated, as this may cause the coating film to bond or soften. Subsequent coating is therefore not recommended.
With highly acidic stearin, the colour stability of certain shades may be limited, particularly blue.
Storage
The candle colours should be stored in the original sealed container at a maximum temperature of 35 °C and protected from heat and oxidising agents. When stored correctly at the recommended storage temperature of 20 °C, the colours have a shelf life of up to 12 months.
