Premium Stearic Acid for Cosmetics & Candle Making - MASCID® 1802

MASCID® 1802 is a premium, triple-pressed stearic acid derived from sustainable palm oil. This fatty acid blend of palmitic acid and stearic acid is the ideal raw material for cosmetic formulations and professional candle making.

For Cosmetic Applications

Important note: The cosmetic grade applies only to the 25 kg containers (original manufacturer's containers).

The excellent re-fatting, smoothing, and soothing properties make stearic acid the perfect care ingredient for sensitive skin. As a rheology modifier, it ensures the ideal consistency in high-quality cosmetic formulations.

For Candle Making

Properties as candle wax ("Stearin")

  • Melts at 54–57 °C – ideal for pouring temperatures and long burn time
  • Form-stable – withstands high temperatures (e.g. summer sun) without deformation
  • Matt & crystalline – opaque surface with characteristic crystal structure
  • Colour-intensifying – enhances the colour effect of the candle colour
  • Minimal dripping & sooting – with correct wick selection
  • Natural wax – main component or additive for candles

Use in Candle Production

Stearic acid is colloquially referred to as Stearin in candle making. It serves as the main component or additive for wax candles and ensures professional results with a matt surface and stable shape. Thanks to it's high stearic acid content, candles develop a characteristic, ice-crystal-like structure as part of their natural solidification process.

Other Areas of Application

Besides cosmetics and candle making, MASCID® 1802 stearic acid is used in:
