Glycerine 99.5% – Technical Grade (vegetable-based, GMO-free)
Our vegetable-based glycerine with a purity of 99.5% is a versatile, clear liquid suitable for a wide range of technical applications. It is derived from vegetable oils and fats and is produced, among other processes, as a by-product of biodiesel manufacturing. Depending on the temperature, it exhibits a viscosity ranging from thick and honey-like to more fluid.
Thanks to its hygroscopic properties (moisture-binding), glycerine is ideally suited as a humectant, plasticiser, and protective component across various applications.
Areas of Application
Technical Applications:
- Humectant in paints (e.g. watercolours) to prevent drying out
- Plasticiser for starch-based films to prevent brittleness
- Used as an antifreeze agent and lubricant
- Base material (reactant) for the production of dyes, plastics, and electronic components (e.g. microchips)
- Lubricant for plastic and rubber parts
Household & Cleaning:
- Rubber care: Keeps seals on cars, windows, and refrigerators supple
- Antifreeze: Prevents locks and seals from freezing
- Window cleaning: Reduces fogging on glass surfaces and mirrors
- Stain removal: Assists in removing stains such as red wine, coffee, or ink
- Leather care: Suitable for maintaining smooth leather
