Vaseline

Vaseline is an ointment-like mixture and is used in pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications. The product is manufactured in Germany and corresponds to the pharmaceutical status according to the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph.Eur.). The melting range is between 38 - 58 °C. At room temperature, Vaseline has an ointment-like consistency and is ideal as a base component for various cream-like formulations. The chemical properties of petroleum jelly are similar to those of paraffin in terms of hydrophobicity, inertness and durability.

Further Information

Vaseline is often used as a base for creams and lotions, often as a skin conditioner or protectant. It is also used for technical applications, e.g. as corrosion protection, lubricant and impregnation ointment.

Notes

Protect from heating/overheating. Keep out of reach of children.

Melting range: Below 40 °C, 40 - 50 °C, 50 - 60 °C
